Big Heat Continues

102º at Bradley today. This tied the all time record at BDL and is only the third time in the last 105 years that BDL has been this hot (the other times were in 1966 and 2001).

Even more impressive than the 102º is the 100º reading measured at Groton! For southeast Connecticut this was the first 100º temperature since the extreme 1991 heat wave.

Unfortunately, the heat and humidity continues tomorrow. Though temperatures and humidity will be a bit lower than today it will still be exceptionally uncomfortable.

This heat wave will shape up to be the worst since the August, 2006 heat wave. The 2001, 1999, 1995, and 1991 heat waves will be worse both in terms of duration and intensity. Still, for anyone outside or without air conditioning, today was bad enough.
