The weather pattern may take a wintry turn toward the end of the month and early December. All appropriate caveats apply to a day 12 to 20 forecast!
After a mild (as a whole) 7 days coming up Thursday through Wednesday I do expect some gradual changes beyond that. Here’s a look at the Euro ensembles for next weekend (23rd and 24th of November) and you can see a bulge in heights over the Bering Strait and Alaska. This -EPO pattern helps dislodge quite a bit of chill from the Arctic.
The GFS ensembles valid a few days later on Thanksgiving morning shows continued EPO ridging and also some ridging over the North Atlantic. This would be a cold and potentially stormy pattern for the northeastern U.S.
We’ll see what develops but at least for the time being I wouldn’t be surprised to see a chilly weather pattern and maybe even some snow by the end of the month and early December.
