JFK Airport in Queens broke their all-time rainiest day record with 7.02″ Wow! The rain is still falling and the number is bound to increase through the remainder of today.
So far the heaviest rain has stayed south of Connecticut but it won’t for much longer. Here’s a look at a doppler radar estimate of rain so far from this storm showing the incredible amount of rain that has fallen so far on the City.
All of this is thanks to a cut-off low that is slowly moving from the Great Lakes toward southern New England. Cut-offs this time of year are notorious for flash flooding and this event appears to be no exception.
