January Thaw, Delayed but Not Denied

The torch is coming! 40s and 50s will be common by the end of next week with a major shift in the storm track across North America.  Here’s the 18z GFS forecast for next Friday. You can see a low pressure well northwest of New England in southwestern Quebec. This will pump warmer air across the northeast with the potential for 55º or greater readings.

Some snow will remain in the hilltowns by next weekend but for most valley and shoreline communities the exceptionally deep snow will be mostly melted by this time next week.
