Wow at this storm! After getting off to an early start in southern Connecticut and a slow start in northern Connecticut the storm is congealing right overhead. Widespread thundersnow and near blizzard conditions are likely. Though snowfall rates of near 3″ per hour in some towns this will be a quick hitter.
By the time all is said and done southern Connecticut could see over a foot. 16″ of snow is possible in some shoreline towns if the storm doesn’t pull out too fast. Across interior Connecticut my going forecast of 5″-9″ may be too conservative based on the sheer ferocity of this storm.
Travel tonight will be a mess. Storm gone by sunrise.
