With 1.9″ of snow as of 1 p.m. Tuesday the Hartford area set a record for the snowiest January on record. The previous record was from the epic January of 1996. It looks like Hartford’s record for the snowiest month on record will stand until Wednesday.
Our afternoon computer model runs still show some differences but in general have converged on a solution that would bring 6″-12″ of snow to most of Connecticut. Even the shoreline now looks to get mainly snow from this event. By tonight we should be able to pin down more specific numbers but it’s too early to do that at this point.
Snow should overspread the state Wednesday afternoon and will be gone by shortly after sunrise Thursday.
