Blizzard Update

Wow! This was an extremely impressive combination of snow and wind which rivaled January 1996. Snow totals with this storm, however, will disappoint in many areas. 10″ will be a common number in the metro New Haven and Hartford areas. A really persistent dry slot causes by subsidence between to major mesoscale bands put a damper on totals along the I-91 corridor and points east.

Isolated totals to 16″ are still possible in far western Connecticut along the New York border where the heaviest banding setup.

Through 10 a.m. this morning expect up to 3″ of new snow in western Connecticut with less to the east.

  1. I’m not disappointed. While I didn’t receive a ton of snow this storm was absolutely amazing in terms of wind and how it paralyzed parts of the Mid-Atlantic and New England. The wind was howling last night and this morning. I had a band move through that really impressed me about two hours ago.

I cannot wait to do this again lol.
