I wouldn’t mind a rainy day, to be honest. It’s been an exceptionally hot month and though it hasn’t been particularly dry (thanks to storms) an all-day rain event sounds pretty nice and refreshing.
Some of our computer models develop a tropical connection on Sunday and Monday with a flow coming straight north from the Bahamas. What does that mean? Heavy rain.
Typically this is a setup that can drench us in August and September as the tropics open up for business and we see weaknesses develop in the big Bermuda Ridge.
Of course it’s a few days away so it’s unclear exactly where the axis of heavy rain will set up. These setups, however, can be prolific rain producers and cause flooding issues. We’ll have to watch this closely in the coming days.
