A Few Rivers to Watch

Tonight it will be critical to watch the data from the USGS. Eastern Connecticut seems primed for a historic flood event and everything I’m looking at tonight still points to that possibility.

Here are some rivers worth watching:
Yantic River at Norwich
  • June 1982 flood – 14.9′
Quinebaug River at Jewett City
  • October 2005 flood – 17.8′
  • June 1982 flood – 19.1′ (worst since 1955)
  • August 1955 flood – 29.0′
Willimantic River at Coventry
  • October 2005 flood – 14.6′
  • June 1982 flood – 11.6′
  • August 1955 flood – 18.7′
