Surprise, Quick-Hitting Monday Snowstorm?

Models look exceptionally impressive for a quick hitting snow event Monday afternoon (possible just before or during the PM commute). These storms, historically, are tremdously high impact. Not enough snow to close businesses/cancel events but the timing is bad, it accumulates fast, and wet roads turn into ice as temperatures plummet.

The 12z ECMWF brings a max QPF of 0.25″ along the Massachusetts border, while the 18z NAM has even more than that but is a bit further north. It’s too early to say who will get hit the hardest with this one (western Mass/southern VT) or CT. But this is a very dynamic and impressive storm!!

Also, I really like the threat for something big late next week or next weekend. Some of the models look great (including an epic blizzard on today’s euro). I think the next 7-10 days are going to be amazing in these parts!!
