Everything on track. Observations to the south in metro DC very encouraging as is the radar. Here in CT the obs agree with what I thought we’d see… snow falling above 500 feet in Connecticut through portions of the Naugatuck Valley, Litchfield Hills, and Northeast Hills. In lower elevations (around Hartford, for instance) it’s raining with some wet snow mixed in with temperatures near 40.
Here in West Hartford I’m at 41º with -RASN which tells me that the boundary layer is very cold except the immediate surface. With strengthening northerly winds we should advect colder air south in short order and the snow level will drop.
If we changeover fast enough and the CCB gets cranking like I think it will even the valleys will get a big thump of snow!!!
